Building on the artistic and scientific partnership established with NASA, Henry returns with a bold new suite for large orchestra - Beyond Earth: A Celestial Odyssey. Presented by Capital Classical Concerts, it makes its world premiere at the Music Center at Strathmore on May 10, 2026. Tickets now on sale.
Beyond Earth: A Celestial Odyssey traces humanity’s epic journey beyond our home world—from the first footprints on the Moon to the ever-expanding horizons of interplanetary exploration.
“I am delighted to be collaborating again with my friends at NASA," says the composer. “Beyond Earth is a celebration of space exploration and a meditation on the human spirit that drives it.”
“It's a sweeping cinematic-symphonic experience,” adds Capital Classical Concerts founder and conductor Piotr Gajewski, “It blends Henry's luminous orchestrations with breathtaking imagery from visionary content creators at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Johnson Space Center.”
At once a tribute to our celestial heritage and an invitation to imagine what lies ahead, Beyond Earth: A Celestial Odyssey celebrates the spirit of discovery that forever draws us toward the stars.
Movements:
- Ad Lunam ("To the Moon")
- Outpost in the Sky
- Starbound
The program also includes selections from Henry’s celebrated 2023 collaboration with NASA - Cosmic Cycles: A Space Symphony, which showcases visuals from the Webb Space Telescope. Lauded by The Washington Post as “a harmonically rewarding wander through the stars” and “an unexpected emotional punch,” Cosmic Cycles has captivated audiences in sold-out halls around the globe.
